Sizing a compressor

Match the compressor's air delivery to the air the tool uses, with a margin: spray guns and tyre inflators need little, sanders and impact tools much more. A larger tank evens out demand. Drain the tank of condensed water after use, and keep the inlet filter clean.

Where it is used

• Tyre inflation and air dusting
• Spray painting
• Pneumatic nailers, staplers and small air tools
• Workshops, garages and site work
