Polycab MCCB accessories are the field-fittable add-ons for the Polycab TP and FP MCCBs (frame 1, 63 to 125 A): shunt releases, an auxiliary switch, an alarm switch, direct and extended rotary handles with a padlock device, and extended terminals / spreader links. Polycab lists nine item codes in its switchgear technical catalogue (October 2024 edition); they are supplied at a price on request.

Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, 4,300+ authorised distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its switchgear range covers MCBs, MCCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, isolators, changeover switches, ACCLs and distribution boards. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab MCCBs and their accessories from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.

Which accessory do I need?

Check these five things before you order:

  • You have a Polycab TP or FP MCCB (63, 100 or 125 A) and want to add a function to it.
  • To trip it from a remote push button, a protection relay or a fire-alarm panel, you need a shunt release - choose the coil voltage of your control supply: 110, 240 or 415 V AC. For a fail-safe emergency stop, ask for the undervoltage (UVT) release instead - it also trips the MCCB at every power cut, and the MCCB must then be switched on again by hand.
  • To signal whether it is ON or OFF, you need the auxiliary switch; to signal that it has tripped, the alarm switch.
  • To operate it through the panel door, you need the extended rotary handle; on the breaker itself, the direct rotary handle - both can be padlocked.
  • If the cable lugs need more room than the standard terminals give, order extended terminals / spreader links - links for one side come in the MCCB box.

Why choose Polycab MCCB accessories

  • Easy to mount and field-fittable, as Polycab describes them
  • Rotary handles with a padlock device, to lock the breaker off during maintenance
  • The door drive (extended rotary handle) shows the ON, OFF and TRIP positions on the panel door
  • Shunt release in three coil voltages - 110, 240 and 415 V AC
  • Changeover contacts rated 250 V AC on the auxiliary and alarm switches
  • A Polycab item code for each of the nine accessories listed, so the order matches the panel drawing

What each accessory does

Shunt release (shunt trip). It trips the MCCB when its coil is energised - from a remote trip button, a protection relay or a fire-alarm panel. It needs its control supply at the moment of tripping, so a broken wire or a lost supply stops it working. Where the MCCB must trip even then - for a fail-safe emergency stop - use an undervoltage (UVT) release, available on request. Choose the coil voltage of your control supply: 110 V AC (A7XXXAX000052), 240 V AC (A7XXXAX000059) or 415 V AC (A7XXXAX000060). The coil is meant for a short trip pulse, not to stay energised, so the trip signal is usually wired through a contact that opens when the MCCB trips. Polycab's auxiliary switch is rated 250 V AC, so it can do this only for the 110 and 240 V AC coils; for the 415 V AC coil, use a contact or relay rated for 415 V. Have your electrician wire it into the trip circuit, or send us your trip circuit and we will check it.

Auxiliary switch. A changeover contact that follows the main contacts, to show whether the MCCB is ON or OFF - on an indication lamp, a PLC or a building management system (on its own it cannot stop a hand-operated MCCB being closed). Item code A7XXXAX000054.

Alarm switch. A changeover contact that signals that the MCCB has tripped, to sound an alarm or light a fault lamp. Item code A7XXXAX000053.

Rotary handles. The direct rotary handle (A7XXXAX000055) fits on the breaker; the extended rotary handle (A7XXXAX000056) lets the MCCB be operated through the panel door. Both have a padlock device for locking off.

Extended terminals / spreader links. They extend the terminals and spread them apart, giving more room for the cable lugs. Spreader links for one side come in the MCCB box; LH or RH links (C7XCUPE040057) and centre links (C7XCUPE040058) are also sold separately.

On request. Polycab also offers an undervoltage (UVT) release, which trips the MCCB when the supply voltage falls too low - including at every power cut, after which the MCCB is switched on again by hand once the supply is back; a deep dip, for example while a large motor starts, can also trip it. An MCCB metal enclosure and a vertical TPN (VTPN) distribution board with an MCCB incomer are also available on request.

Where it is used

  • remote tripping from trip buttons, protection relays and fire-alarm panels (shunt release); fail-safe emergency stops (UVT release, on request)
  • ON / OFF and trip signals to panel lamps, PLCs and building management systems (auxiliary and alarm switches)
  • MCCBs operated and padlocked through the panel door (extended rotary handle)
  • transformer LT, DG set and motor control centre panels with Polycab MCCBs

Frequently asked questions

Which MCCBs do these accessories fit?

The Polycab TP and FP MCCBs, frame 1 (63, 100 and 125 A) - Polycab lists them together and describes the accessories as field-fittable. For any other MCCB, send us its make and model before you order.

What is the difference between the auxiliary switch and the alarm switch?

The auxiliary switch shows whether the MCCB is ON or OFF; the alarm switch signals that it has tripped. Both are changeover contacts rated 250 V AC. Polycab gives no contact current or DC rating, so for a 24 V DC PLC input or any other DC circuit, tell us the voltage and current and we will confirm before you order.

Which shunt release do I need?

The one that matches the control voltage that will trip the MCCB: 110 V AC (A7XXXAX000052), 240 V AC (A7XXXAX000059) or 415 V AC (A7XXXAX000060). For an emergency stop that must trip even if the control supply fails, ask for the undervoltage (UVT) release instead (see below). Shunt coils are meant for a short trip pulse, not to stay energised, so send us your trip circuit and we will check it.

Is there a shunt release for a DC control supply?

Polycab lists AC coils only - 110, 240 and 415 V AC. If your trip circuit runs on DC, for example a 24 V or 110 V DC battery supply, tell us before you order.

Can several accessories be fitted to one MCCB?

Polycab's catalogue does not say which accessories can be fitted together. Tell us which you need on the same MCCB - for example a shunt release with auxiliary and alarm switches - and we will confirm before you order.

What comes in the MCCB box?

Phase barriers for both sides and spreader links for one side, as Polycab's catalogue states. The accessories on this page are ordered separately.

Is an undervoltage release available?

Yes, on request - as are an MCCB metal enclosure and a vertical TPN (VTPN) distribution board with an MCCB incomer. A UVT release trips the MCCB whenever its supply voltage falls too low - so at every power cut - and the MCCB must then be switched on again by hand. Call +91 9340081159.
