The Polycab HFFR Wire range covers single-core multi-stranded copper building wires with halogen-free flame-retardant insulation - cross-linked in HFFR-04XZ-K, thermoplastic or cross-linked in HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K - that give off low smoke and no halogen acid gases in a fire. It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.

Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, a network of 4,300+ dealers and distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its cable range runs from house wires and 1.1 kV power and control cables to MV and EHV power cables, with instrumentation, solar, railway, marine, mining, fire-survival and other special cables. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab cables from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.

Is this the right one for you?

Check these five things before you order:

  • The wiring is in a building where smoke and toxic gases in a fire are a concern - hospitals, airports, metros, data centres, malls or high-rise.
  • You know which type your specification asks for (HFFR-04XZ-K, which Polycab describes as a high-current wire, or HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K).
  • You know the sizes and colours.
  • The wire will run in conduit or trunking, as single-core building wire normally does - we confirm on the datasheet whether it is sheathed.
  • You know whether the specification names IS 17048.

Why choose the Polycab HFFR Wire

  • Halogen-free - no corrosive or toxic halogen acid gases in a fire
  • Low smoke, so escape routes stay visible longer
  • Flame retardant
  • A choice of cross-linked (HFFR-04XZ-K) and thermoplastic or cross-linked (HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K) insulation
  • RoHS compliant

How to choose and specify it

Why halogen-free. Ordinary PVC gives off dense smoke and hydrochloric acid gas when it burns. HFFR insulation gives off far less smoke and no halogen acid gases, which protects people escaping and sensitive equipment.

Which type. HFFR-04XZ-K has cross-linked HFFR insulation, and Polycab describes it as a high-current wire - one that carries more current for its size, which normally means a higher permitted conductor temperature. HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K come in thermoplastic or cross-linked HFFR. The catalogue gives no temperature or current ratings, so we confirm both on the datasheet. Your specification or consultant usually names the type.

House wires. Polycab's branded house wires - Etira, Optima+, Primma, Green Wire+ and Suprema - are PVC insulated, not halogen-free, and are listed separately with their sizes and MRPs.

Conduit. If the whole installation must be halogen-free, ask us to confirm the material and fire grade of the conduit too.

Where it is used

  • Hospitals and healthcare buildings
  • Airports, metro stations and tunnels
  • Data centres and IT parks
  • Malls, theatres and high-rise buildings
  • Schools and public buildings

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Polycab HFFR Wire?

The Polycab HFFR Wire is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.

What does HFFR mean?

Halogen-free flame-retardant: the insulation resists flame and gives off low smoke and no halogen acid gases in a fire.

What is the difference between HFFR-04XZ-K and HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K?

HFFR-04XZ-K is cross-linked and described by Polycab as a high-current wire; HFFR-01Z-K / 03XZ-K come in thermoplastic or cross-linked HFFR insulation. We confirm the temperature and current ratings on the datasheet; your specification usually names the type.

Which standard applies?

The catalogue does not name one. IS 17048 is the Indian standard for HFFR cables up to 1100 V; tell us if your specification names it.

How is it different from the Polycab Medical Wire?

The Polycab Medical Wire has cross-linked HFFR insulation that Polycab describes as fungus free, and the catalogue lists it as conforming to IS 17048; these HFFR wires are listed without a standard or the fungus-free property. Tell us your specification and we confirm which one suits.

Where can I buy the Polycab HFFR Wire in Chhattisgarh?

From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
