How to choose and fit it

SPN or TPN. A TPN (three phase and neutral) board is for a three-phase supply: a four-pole incomer and single-pole outgoing MCBs on each phase. "4 way per phase" means 12 single-pole outgoing ways in all, 4 on each phase.

What "8 + 12" means. The first figure is the incomer space in modules and the second the number of single-pole outgoing ways. 8 modules leave room, for example, for a four-pole MCB and a four-pole RCCB.

How many ways. Count the circuits you need now - lighting, sockets, air conditioners, geyser, kitchen, pump - and add a few spare ways for circuits you may add later.
