How to choose and fit it

Planning. Measure the poles, railings or facade lines to decorate and work out how many 18 m strips you need; keep the supply point near the start of each strip. It is supplied as an 18 m length running on 220 to 240 V AC - do not cut or join it unless we confirm the cut points, end caps and connectors with Polycab. Polycab's render suggests the colours run in sections along the strip - saffron, then white, then green - so a strip wound up a pole gives tricolour bands. Laid straight along a railing or roof line, the same strip shows the three colours one after another in long blocks, not side by side - we confirm the section lengths with Polycab before you plan either use. Plan the wrap so that saffron ends up at the top, as in Polycab's photo. If the supply end is the saffron end, the feed has to be taken up to the top of the pole, so we check which end takes the supply before you lay the feed cable.

Fitting. Wrap or fix the strip along the pole or structure with clips or ties that do not crush it, keep the connections in weatherproof junctions, earth each pole or installation point as Polycab's note asks and feed the circuit through a 30 mA RCD. Isolate the supply before work; a qualified electrician should install it.

Events. It suits Independence Day and Republic Day decoration of poles, government buildings, bridges and campuses.
