How to choose and fit it

Aiming. The 360° rotating bracket lets you aim each fitting precisely; choose narrower beams for distant targets and wider ones for nearby surfaces.

Control and wiring. Each DMX512 fitting is given a start address and uses one or more DMX channels - typically 1 for single white, 3 for RGB and 4 for RGBW, more if segments are controlled separately. The fittings are run from a DMX controller, which sets colours, scenes and dynamic effects. A DMX line (one universe) carries up to 512 channels and typically up to 32 fittings over about 300 m, whichever limit comes first: daisy-chain the fittings on shielded DMX cable (no Y-splits) and fit a 120-ohm terminator at the end of each line. For more fittings, longer runs or branches use a DMX splitter, which repeats the same channels on every output; for more channels use another controller output. ON-OFF versions switch like normal lights. 24 V DC versions need LED drivers sized for the connected load and placed close to the fittings, because long 24 V cable runs lose voltage. Feed the drivers, like the 240 V AC versions, from an earthed circuit protected by a 30 mA RCD.

Design. Facade lighting is planned building by building - send us elevations or photographs and the effect you want, and we will propose the fittings, beam angles, colours and control. A qualified electrician should install and connect the fittings, with the supply isolated.
