Polycab FP RCCB 100 mA – 4 Pole Residual Current Circuit Breaker, 25 / 40 / 63 A, IS 12640-1
4 pole RCCB, 100 mA sensitivity, 25 / 40 / 63 A. MRP Rs 4,096 - 4,630 per piece.
MRP Rs 4,096 - 4,630 per piece
The Polycab FP RCCB 100 mA is a four pole (4 pole) residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) with 100 mA sensitivity, made to IS 12640-1 / IEC 61008-1 for a three-phase supply with neutral. It switches the supply off when current leaks to earth through damaged insulation or faulty equipment; for protection of people against electric shock, use the 30 mA version. Polycab lists it in 25, 40 and 63 A at MRP Rs 4,096 to Rs 4,630 per piece (polycab.com, October 2026).
Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, 4,300+ authorised distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its switchgear range covers MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, isolators, changeover switches, ACCLs and distribution boards. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab RCCBs from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.
Is this the right one for you?
Check these five things before you order:
- You need earth-leakage protection for a three-phase supply with neutral (four pole).
- 100 mA suits the job: equipment and circuit-group protection.
- An MCB or fuse upstream gives the overload and short-circuit protection - an RCCB does not.
- Its rated current (25, 40 or 63 A) is at least equal to the rating of the MCB that protects it.
- Circuits where people need shock protection will have their own 30 mA RCCBs or RCBOs.

Why choose the Polycab FP RCCB 100 mA
- Larger terminals
- Real trip indicator - shows when it has tripped on a fault
- Test button to check the device
- Lockable knob for safe maintenance
- Air-flow channels
- Functionally independent of line voltage (electromechanical) - it does not depend on the supply voltage to trip
- Busbar or cable termination on both sides
- Line-load reversibility - it can be fed from the top or the bottom
- Label holder to identify the load
- Terminal shutter that stops a wire going into the wrong place during installation
- Combi-head screws and neutral marking (Polycab catalogue)
- Polycab item code and MRP for every rating - GMR504P009, GMR504P011 and GMR504P012
How to choose and fit it
Sensitivity. 100 mA is used for protection of equipment and groups of circuits, where several small leakage currents can add up; it does not give people the shock protection of a 30 mA device. Polycab makes this RCCB in 30, 100 and 300 mA.
It does not replace the MCB. An RCCB detects earth leakage only. It has no overload or short-circuit protection, so it is always used with an MCB or fuse - usually the incomer MCB of the distribution board ahead of it.
Rated current. 25, 40 or 63 A is the current the RCCB can carry continuously. Choose a rating at least equal to the MCB that protects it.
Poles. The four pole version is for a three-phase supply with neutral. For a single-phase supply use the double-pole version.
Testing. Press the test button regularly - many electricians advise once a month - to check that it still trips.
Where it is used
- equipment and groups of circuits where small leakage currents add up - machines, pumps and commercial installations
- used together with 30 mA RCCBs or RCBOs on the circuits where people need shock protection - where it sits ahead of them, your electrician checks that both do not trip on the same fault

Frequently asked questions
What does 100 mA mean on an RCCB?
It is the leakage current at which the RCCB trips. A 100 mA RCCB is used for protection of equipment and groups of circuits, where several small leakage currents can add up; it does not give people the shock protection of a 30 mA device.
Does an RCCB protect against overload and short circuit?
No. An RCCB only detects current leaking to earth. Use it with an MCB or fuse for overload and short-circuit protection, or use an RCBO, which does both.
Which rated current should I choose - 25, 40 or 63 A?
At least the rating of the MCB that protects the RCCB. For example, behind a 32 A incomer MCB choose a 40 A RCCB; behind a 63 A incomer choose 63 A.
Why does my RCCB trip?
Usually because current is leaking to earth - from damp wiring, a faulty appliance or a damaged cable. Switch off the circuits, reset the RCCB and switch them on one at a time to find the faulty one; ask an electrician to check it.
What is the MRP of the Polycab FP RCCB 40 A 100 mA?
Rs 4,179 per piece, item code GMR504P011 - the MRP listed on polycab.com in October 2026, inclusive of taxes. Call +91 9340081159 for the selling price and stock.
