The Polycab EV Automotive Cable range covers the low-voltage and high-voltage cables inside electric vehicles, with bare or tinned copper conductors, heat-resistant PVC, e-beam XLPO or silicone insulation, and voltage classes from 30 V AC / 60 V DC up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC. Polycab's catalogue lists it as conforming to ISO 19642, ISO 6722 and Chinese standards (printed as "GP/T QC/T"). It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.

Is this the right one for you?

Check these four things before you order:

  • You know the highest voltage the circuit can see, including while charging - up to 60 V DC, or above.
  • You know the temperature at the hottest point of the route and the design current.
  • You know the size, the cores and the vehicle maker's screening requirement.
  • You have the vehicle maker's (OEM) cable specification and sheath colour.

Construction and standards

  • Conductor: annealed bare or tinned copper
  • Cores: single or multicore
  • Insulation: heat-resistant PVC, EBXL XLPO or silicone rubber
  • Screen: screened
  • ISO 19642: road vehicle automotive cables, 30 V AC / 60 V DC up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC
  • ISO 6722: road vehicle 60 V and 600 V single-core cables (withdrawn - see the note)
  • Note - Standards: ISO 6722 was withdrawn in 2023 and replaced by ISO 19642; "GP/T QC/T" in the catalogue is read as the Chinese national (GB/T) and automotive-industry (QC/T) standards - we confirm the standard for each cable

Why choose the Polycab EV Automotive Cable

  • Voltage classes from 30 V AC / 60 V DC up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC
  • Temperature classes of 105, 125, 150 and 180 °C
  • Heat-resistant PVC, e-beam XLPO or silicone rubber insulation
  • Screened automotive cables, as Polycab lists the family
  • Listed to ISO 19642 and to Chinese GB/T and QC/T standards - we confirm the standard for each cable

How to choose and specify it

Voltage class. Choose the ISO 19642 class from the highest voltage the circuit can see, including while charging: the 30 V AC / 60 V DC class only where the system stays within 60 V DC, and above that the 600 V AC / 900 V DC or 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC classes. A 48 V pack normally stays within 60 V DC, while 60 V and 72 V packs go above 60 V DC when charging and need a higher class.

Temperature. Choose a class that covers the ambient at the hottest point of the route - near motors and power electronics, for example - plus the cable's own heating at the design current. ISO 19642 labels its temperature classes by letter, so we confirm which class each Polycab cable (105, 125, 150 or 180 °C) meets.

Screening and colour. High-voltage traction cables are usually screened for EMC, and high-voltage cables in vehicles are usually orange so that they are easy to identify. Follow the OEM's specification.

Where it is used

  • Battery packs and battery management wiring
  • Motor and inverter high-voltage connections
  • Electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and e-rickshaws
  • Electric cars, buses and commercial vehicles
  • Low-voltage harnesses in EVs

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Polycab EV Automotive Cable?

The Polycab EV Automotive Cable is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.

Which standard applies?

ISO 19642, the road-vehicle cable standard that replaced ISO 6722 (withdrawn in 2023). The catalogue also lists Chinese standards; we confirm the standard for each cable.

Which temperature class do I need?

One that covers the ambient at the hottest point of the route plus the cable's own heating at the design current - higher classes (125, 150 or 180 °C) near motors and power electronics. We confirm how each Polycab class maps to the ISO 19642 class your drawing names.

Why are EV high-voltage cables orange?

Orange marks high-voltage cables in vehicles so that service staff can identify them. Follow your vehicle maker's colour specification.

Where can I buy the Polycab EV Automotive Cable in Chhattisgarh?

From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
