HEX crimping type copper tubular cable terminal ends are the standard copper lugs for terminating power cables to equipment or for earthing. They are made from high-conductivity electrolytic copper tube (minimum 97% IACS), electro-tinned against corrosion, with an inspection hole to check that the conductor is fully inserted before crimping. Sizes up to 500 sq mm are UL listed to UL 486A-486B. Made by HEX, the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai — an ISO 9001 company whose products are tested by CPRI (India), UL (USA), KEMA (Netherlands) and SIRIM (Malaysia).

Which HEX copper lug do I need?
- Standard UL-listed tubular lugs (this page) — the general-purpose copper lug, 1.5–1000 mm², with inspection hole.
- Economy range — the same job for 35–1000 mm² where a lighter lug is acceptable.
- Bell mouth — flared entry for fast insertion of flexible or fine-stranded conductors.
- Without inspection hole — sealed barrel for damp or outdoor locations.
- Long barrel, 2-hole or 4-hole — longer crimp or anti-rotation palm for heavy terminations.
- 33 kV terminals — for HV cable terminations.

Frequently asked questions
Are HEX copper lugs UL listed?
Yes — the crimping type copper tubular terminal ends are UL listed from 1.5 to 500 sq mm (UL 486A-486B, CSA C22.2 No. 65); the 630, 800 and 1000 sq mm sizes are not UL listed.
How do I read the product code?
HT, then the cable size in sq mm, then the stud hole in mm — for example HT 95-10 is a 95 sq mm lug with a 10.5 mm hole. BL means a blank palm to be drilled on site.
What is the copper quality?
Electrolytic copper with a minimum of 97% IACS conductivity to IS 191, electro-tinned to IS 1359.
Why is there an inspection hole?
To see that the conductor is pushed fully into the barrel before crimping.
How should the lug be crimped?
Use a crimping tool and die matched to the cable size, and crimp from the palm end towards the barrel end.
