HEX insulated screw connectors join small wires quickly in junction boxes and fittings. The clear PVC housing lets you check the termination visually, and the brass connection is tightened with one or two screws. They are rated 32 A (depending on conductor loading) for normal 240/415 V applications, take up to 2 × 6 sq mm, and are supplied in handy screw-top jars. Made by HEX, the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai — an ISO 9001 company whose products are tested by CPRI (India), UL (USA), KEMA (Netherlands) and SIRIM (Malaysia).

Specifications
- HSCS1: single screw connector, 32 A
- HSCS2: double screw connector, 32 A
- Maximum conductors: 2 × 6 sq mm
- Voltage: 240/415 V
- Note: nominal 32 A rating depends on conductor loading
How to make a good joint
Switch off and isolate the circuit. Strip each wire only as far as the length of the brass insert, so no bare copper shows outside the housing. For fine-stranded flexible wire, fit an end-sealing ferrule first so loose strands cannot escape the clamp.
Push the wires fully into the brass insert and tighten the screw — or both screws on the HSCS2 — firmly. Give each wire a light pull to confirm it is held, then look through the clear body to check that the copper sits under the screw and that no insulation is trapped in the clamp.
Where it is used
- Junction boxes and ceiling roses
- Light fittings and appliances
- Control wiring joints
Screw connector, butt connector or ferrule?
- Insulated screw connector — no crimping tool needed and the joint can be opened again; ideal inside junction boxes and light fittings.
- Insulated butt connector — a permanent crimped in-line joint that suits harnesses and wiring exposed to vibration.
- End-sealing ferrule — not a joint in itself; it finishes a flexible wire so it clamps cleanly in a screw terminal.

Frequently asked questions
What rating are HEX screw connectors?
Nominally 32 A, depending on conductor loading, for 240/415 V applications.
How many wires can they take?
Up to 2 × 6 sq mm.
Single or double screw?
Both are available — HSCS1 has one screw, HSCS2 two. The second screw gives a more secure clamp.
Can I see whether the wire is fully inserted?
Yes — the PVC body is clear, so you can check the termination without opening the joint.
