HEX long barrel tinned copper cable terminal ends (HTL) have an extended barrel that allows a longer crimp with more crimp positions — improving pull-out strength and electrical performance on heavily loaded or vibrating terminations. They run from 6 to 800 sq mm and are also available without an inspection hole. Made by HEX, the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai — an ISO 9001 company whose products are tested by CPRI (India), UL (USA), KEMA (Netherlands) and SIRIM (Malaysia).

Which HEX copper lug do I need?
- Standard UL-listed tubular lugs — the general-purpose copper lug, 1.5–1000 mm², with inspection hole.
- Economy range — the same job for 35–1000 mm² where a lighter lug is acceptable.
- Bell mouth — flared entry for fast insertion of flexible or fine-stranded conductors.
- Without inspection hole — sealed barrel for damp or outdoor locations.
- Long barrel (this page), 2-hole or 4-hole — longer crimp or anti-rotation palm for heavy terminations.
- 33 kV terminals — for HV cable terminations.

Frequently asked questions
What is the advantage of a long barrel lug?
A longer barrel takes more crimps, giving higher pull-out strength and better performance under vibration.
Which stud holes are standard?
8.4 mm for 6–35 sq mm, 13 mm for 50–185 sq mm, 17 mm for 240 sq mm and 21 mm for 300–800 sq mm; other hole sizes on request.
Is a version without inspection hole available?
Yes — long barrel lugs can be supplied without an inspection hole.
How should the lug be crimped?
Use a crimping tool and die matched to the cable size, and crimp from the palm end towards the barrel end.
