Whenever two cables have to be joined in a straight line, an in-line connector (ferrule) gives a safe, low-resistance joint. HEX copper in-line connectors come in three families: long-barrel connectors (HC), short-barrel connectors (HL — UL listed up to 500 sq mm) and crimping sleeves (HNC) — all E-copper, electro-tinned, from 1.5 to 1000 sq mm.
