How to choose and fit it

Wattage. Polycab lists this surface LED panel light in 6, 12, 15, 18 or 24 W. 6 W suits a passage, store or utility room; 24 W a bedroom or a small office bay as the only light - about one 12 W to 15 W panel per 35 to 50 sq ft for home brightness; use more panels rather than one very bright one.

Colour. 3000 K warm white gives a relaxed, yellowish light for bedrooms, living rooms and restaurants; 4000 K neutral white is a balanced white for offices and shops; 6500 K cool white is the brightest-looking, for kitchens, work areas and utility spaces. The 3-in-1 CCT version cycles between cool white, warm white and neutral white each time the wall switch is toggled, so one fitting serves every mood. Note that the 3-in-1 CCT version is listed at 15 W only.

Fitting. Fix the mounting plate or bracket to the ceiling over the wiring point, connect the leads and fit the panel onto it. No cut-out is needed; keep the leads inside the mounting and the fitting dry.
