HEXPRESS hand crimping tools are mechanical compression tools for copper and aluminium cable lugs and terminals from 0.5 to 400 sq mm. The force comes from the handles - there is nothing hydraulic to service - and the tools are sized by conductor cross-section like the HEX lugs they crimp. HEXPRESS is the crimping-tool range of HEX - the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai, an ISO 9001 company - sold alongside the HEX cable lugs, terminals and ferrules it is sized to crimp.

The range runs from the 340 g A-6 for 0.5 to 6 sq mm, through the dieless H-50 and H-70, the F1-185 with round or hexagon dies, and the HEXPRESS-17 and -18 copper tube terminal tools, up to the G-400 and gear-operated G1-400 for 400 sq mm. Each tool has its own page; prices are on request.

Frequently asked questions

Round or hexagon dies - which do I need?

Both make a compression crimp on the lug barrel. Hexagon dies leave the familiar six-sided crimp; round dies leave a round one. Follow the lug specification or the practice on your site; the F1-185 is offered with either.

What is a dieless tool?

A tool whose jaw has fixed crimping positions for set sizes, so there are no dies to fit - the H-50 covers 25, 35 and 50 sq mm lugs and 16, 25 and 35 sq mm ring terminals; the H-70 covers ring terminals from 16 to 70 sq mm.

Up to what size can a hand tool crimp?

The G-400 and G1-400 crimp up to 400 sq mm; above that, use a HEXPRESS hydraulic tool.

Do the die tools come with dies?

Die sets are listed by number on the die pages (F1-185: R-1 to R-13; G-400 and G1-400: H-50 to H-400, though HEX also lists R-11 to R-18 for the G1-400) and are ordered for the sizes you crimp.
