Screened XLPE aluminium phase cores bunched with a bare or insulated messenger, for HT overhead lines. Price on request.

Request price

The Polycab HT Aerial Bunched Cable (HT ABC) is an insulated HT overhead line: screened, XLPE insulated aluminium phase cores bunched with a messenger, so faults from trees, birds and clashing conductors become rare. It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.

Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, a network of 4,300+ dealers and distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its cable range runs from house wires and 1.1 kV power and control cables to MV and EHV power cables, with instrumentation, solar, railway, marine, mining, fire-survival and other special cables. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab cables from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.

Is this the right one for you?

Check these four things before you order:

  • The line is an HT overhead feeder through trees, forest, hills or crowded streets, where a bare line faults often.
  • You know the voltage grade and conductor size your utility or project specifies.
  • You know whether the messenger must be bare or insulated.
  • Suspension and dead-end clamps, and the terminations at each end, will match the cable.

  • Phase cores: stranded compacted aluminium, XLPE insulated, semi-conducting and copper-tape screened, PVC sheathed
  • Messenger: messenger conductor, bare or insulated as required
  • Voltage grade: not printed in the catalogue - confirmed on order
  • Standard: printed as "generally conforming to IS 14255" (see the note under Construction and standards)

Construction and standards

  • Conductor: stranded, compacted aluminium
  • Conductor screen: semi-conducting compound
  • Insulation: XLPE
  • Insulation screen: semi-conducting compound and copper tape
  • Core sheath: PVC
  • Messenger: messenger conductor, with or without insulation as required
  • IS 14255: aerial bunched cables for working voltages up to and including 1100 V
  • Note - Standard: the catalogue says "generally conforming to IS 14255", but IS 14255 covers aerial bunched cables only up to 1100 V; 11 kV HT ABC specifications of Indian utilities often call for the phase cores to IS 7098 (Part 2), the standard for XLPE cables from 3.3 to 33 kV, which the catalogue does not list for this cable; we confirm the standard and the voltage grade with Polycab for your order

Why choose the Polycab HT Aerial Bunched Cable

  • Fully insulated and screened phase cores - far fewer faults from trees, birds and clashing conductors than on a bare HT line
  • Compacted aluminium conductors, XLPE insulation and a copper-tape screen on each core
  • Messenger conductor, bare or insulated, to carry the span
  • Needs a narrower corridor than a bare line, with less tree cutting

How to choose and specify it

Voltage grade and size. The catalogue does not print them; utility specifications set the phase-core size, the messenger and the voltage grade (for example 11 kV). Send us the specification and we confirm the construction with Polycab.

Standard. Tell us the standard your tender names - see the note on IS 14255 and IS 7098 (Part 2) under Construction and standards.

Hardware and terminations. HT ABC is strung with suspension and dead-end (tension) clamps made for HT ABC, and each core is terminated with a cable termination for its screened construction and voltage grade. The copper-tape screens and the messenger are earthed at the terminations and wherever your utility specification requires. Use aluminium lugs on the phase cores, and bimetallic lugs where they meet copper terminals.

Where it is used

  • HT feeders through forest and hilly areas
  • HT lines in crowded towns and narrow streets
  • Feeders to mines, quarries and remote industrial loads
  • Lines where tree contact and bird faults trip a bare feeder
  • Rural feeders where frequent tripping of a bare line cuts supply

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Polycab HT Aerial Bunched Cable?

The Polycab HT Aerial Bunched Cable is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.

Which standard does HT ABC follow?

The catalogue prints "generally conforming to IS 14255", but IS 14255 covers aerial bunched cables only up to 1100 V. Utility specifications for 11 kV HT ABC often call for the phase cores to IS 7098 (Part 2). We confirm the standard with Polycab for your order.

Why use HT ABC instead of a bare overhead line?

Each phase core is insulated and screened, so faults from tree branches, birds and clashing conductors become rare, and the corridor through trees can be narrower.

Is the messenger bare or insulated?

Either - the catalogue lists a messenger conductor with or without insulation, as the specification requires.

Where can I buy the Polycab HT Aerial Bunched Cable in Chhattisgarh?

From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
