The Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable (LT ABC) is an insulated overhead distribution cable: XLPE or black HDPE insulated aluminium phase cores twisted round an aluminium-alloy or ACSR messenger, with a neutral and a street-lighting conductor as options. It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.

Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, a network of 4,300+ dealers and distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its cable range runs from house wires and 1.1 kV power and control cables to MV and EHV power cables, with instrumentation, solar, railway, marine, mining, fire-survival and other special cables. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab cables from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.

Is this the right one for you?

Check these four things before you order:

  • The line is an LT (up to 1100 V) overhead distribution or service line.
  • You know the phase-core size and the number of cores your utility specifies.
  • You know the messenger: aluminium alloy or ACSR, bare or insulated.
  • You know whether a separate neutral or a street-lighting conductor is needed.

  • Product: Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable
  • Type: LT aerial bunched cable (LT ABC) for overhead distribution
  • Phase cores: aluminium, XLPE or black HDPE insulated, twisted together
  • Messenger: aluminium alloy or ACSR, bare or insulated
  • Options: a neutral conductor and a street-lighting conductor
  • Standard: not printed in the catalogue - the Indian LT ABC standard is IS 14255 (up to 1100 V)

Construction and standards

  • Phase conductors: aluminium, XLPE or black HDPE insulated
  • Assembly: phase cores laid together (twisted) around the messenger
  • Messenger: aluminium alloy or ACSR, insulated or bare
  • Optional cores: neutral conductor and street-lighting conductor
  • Note - Standard: the catalogue gives no standard for LT ABC; IS 14255 is the Indian standard for aerial bunched cables up to and including 1100 V; if your utility names it, we confirm with Polycab that the cable is made to it

Why choose the Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable

  • Insulated phase cores - far fewer faults from trees, kites and clashing conductors than on bare LT lines
  • Much harder to hook illegally than bare LT conductors, which cuts power theft
  • Aluminium-alloy or ACSR messenger carries the span
  • Optional neutral and street-lighting conductors in the same bunch
  • XLPE or black (UV-resistant) HDPE insulation

How to choose and specify it

Configuration. Utility specifications set the number and size of the phase cores, the messenger and whether a street-lighting core is included. Send us the specification or the configuration you need.

Messenger. The messenger carries the mechanical load of the span. The catalogue lists aluminium alloy or ACSR, bare or insulated, with a separate neutral as an option.

Hardware. LT ABC is strung with suspension and anchor (dead-end) clamps made for ABC, and tapped with insulation-piercing connectors. The neutral - or the messenger, where it serves as the neutral - is earthed as your utility specification requires. At the ends of the line, terminate the aluminium cores with aluminium lugs, or with bimetallic lugs or connectors where they meet copper. Clean the conductors and apply an oxide-inhibiting compound before crimping, as the lug maker instructs.

Where it is used

  • LT distribution in towns and villages
  • Areas with heavy power theft by hooking
  • Lines through trees and narrow lanes
  • Street lighting circuits
  • Service lines to housing colonies and markets

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable?

The Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.

What does the messenger do?

It carries the weight and tension of the span. The catalogue lists an aluminium-alloy or ACSR messenger, bare or insulated, with a separate neutral and a street-lighting conductor as options.

Why does LT ABC reduce power theft?

The phase cores are insulated and twisted together, so a bare hook cannot be thrown over the line as it can on bare conductors.

Which standard applies?

The catalogue does not name one. IS 14255 is the Indian standard for aerial bunched cables up to 1100 V; tell us if your utility specifies it.

Where can I buy the Polycab LT Aerial Bunched Cable in Chhattisgarh?

From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
