HEX copper C-type connectors (HCC) are C-shaped compression connectors for making tap, parallel or run-to-tap joints between two conductors without cutting the main run — widely used in earthing grids and overhead taps. They are E-copper, supplied plain or electro-tinned. Made by HEX, the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai — an ISO 9001 company whose products are tested by CPRI (India), UL (USA), KEMA (Netherlands) and SIRIM (Malaysia).

How a C-type connector is installed
The run conductor and the tap conductor are laid side by side inside the C, and the connector is compressed with a crimping tool and die so that it closes tightly around both. Because the run conductor is not cut, taps can be added anywhere along an existing earth conductor or overhead line — which is why C-connectors are the usual choice for earth mats and grid interconnections.
