The Polycab BMS Cable is a screened multicore cable for building management systems, with flexible copper PVC insulated cores under an overall aluminium-Mylar screen with either a tinned drain wire or a tinned copper braid over it. Polycab's catalogue lists it as generally conforming to BS EN 50288-7. It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.
Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, a network of 4,300+ dealers and distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its cable range runs from house wires and 1.1 kV power and control cables to MV and EHV power cables, with instrumentation, solar, railway, marine, mining, fire-survival and other special cables. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab cables from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.
Is this the right one for you?
Check these four things before you order:
- The circuits are BMS signal and I/O wiring - sensors, actuators, controllers and meters - not power, and not RS-485 network links (see How to choose).
- You know the number of cores and the conductor size your BMS supplier specifies.
- You know whether the drain-wire or the braided version is wanted.
- Fire alarm and other life-safety circuits will use the cable their design and code call for - a fire survival (fire-resistant) cable where the circuit must keep working in a fire.

Why choose the Polycab BMS Cable
- Overall screen against noise from power cables and lighting circuits
- Flexible copper conductors - easy to route through ceilings and risers
- Aluminium-Mylar foil with a tinned drain wire, or with a tinned copper braid over it
- Multicore - several signals in one cable
How to choose and specify it
Cores and size. BMS suppliers usually specify the core count and size for each loop - for example sensor, actuator and controller wiring. Send us their cable schedule.
Screen. Both versions have the overall aluminium-Mylar foil: one adds a tinned drain wire, which is light and easy to terminate, the other a tinned copper braid, which adds mechanical strength and lower screen resistance. Earth the screen as the BMS supplier advises.
Networks. For RS-485 links between controllers and meters (Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP), use a twisted-pair cable of about 120 ohm - see the Polycab Data Cable, and ask us to confirm the pair construction and impedance of its RS485 type.
Separation. Run BMS cables on their own tray or conduit, apart from power cables, and do not use them for fire alarm or emergency circuits.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of the Polycab BMS Cable?
The Polycab BMS Cable is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.
Can BMS cable be used for fire alarm circuits?
No - use the cable your fire alarm design and code call for. Where the alarm circuits must keep working in a fire, as many codes require, that is a fire survival (fire-resistant) cable - see the Polycab Fire Survival Cable.
Drain wire or braid?
Both versions have the aluminium-Mylar foil. The drain-wire version is light and easy to terminate; the braided version is mechanically stronger with a lower screen resistance. Your BMS supplier's specification usually decides.
Which standard does it follow?
Polycab lists it as generally conforming to BS EN 50288-7, the European standard for instrumentation and control cables.
Where can I buy the Polycab BMS Cable in Chhattisgarh?
From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
