The Polycab VFD Cable is a screened motor cable for variable frequency drives, with three phase cores and three earth cores (3+3(E)) or four cores of flexible copper under an aluminium-Mylar tape and a tinned copper braid. Polycab's catalogue lists it as generally conforming to IS 7098 (Part 1) and IEC 60502-1. It is supplied at a price on request: cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day.
Polycab India Limited is India's largest manufacturer of wires and cables, with 27 manufacturing facilities, a network of 4,300+ dealers and distributors, 2,00,000+ retailers and an export presence in 84 countries (polycab.com, October 2026). Its cable range runs from house wires and 1.1 kV power and control cables to MV and EHV power cables, with instrumentation, solar, railway, marine, mining, fire-survival and other special cables. Jai Enterprises supplies Polycab cables from Bhilai and Raipur all over Chhattisgarh - Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kanker, Ambikapur and every other district - and across India.
Is this the right one for you?
Check these five things before you order:
- The motor is fed from a variable frequency drive (VFD / VSD / inverter).
- You know the motor current, the cable run and the size your drive maker recommends.
- You have chosen 3+3(E) symmetrical or 4 core construction.
- EMC cable glands will bond the screen all round (360°) at the drive and the motor.
- The run is on tray or in conduit, or you have asked us about an armoured version.

Why choose the Polycab VFD Cable
- Symmetrical 3+3(E) design - the earth cores sit evenly between the phases
- Double screen: aluminium-Mylar foil plus tinned copper braid
- Flexible copper conductors for easier routing to the motor terminal box
- XLPE, PE or PP insulation
- PVC outer sheath
How to choose and specify it
Why a VFD cable. A drive switches the motor voltage at high frequency. An unscreened cable radiates that noise into nearby circuits, and an asymmetric cable can let stray currents flow through the motor bearings. Drive makers recommend a screened, symmetrical motor cable such as the 3+3(E) design.
Core design. In the 3+3(E) design three smaller earth cores sit between the three phase cores, so the earth return is balanced around the phases. The 4 core version is the alternative where your specification allows it - many drive makers accept a 4 core cable only in smaller sizes, so check the drive manual.
Screen termination. Bond the braid all round (360°) in EMC cable glands at both the drive and the motor, avoid pigtails (if one cannot be avoided, keep it as short as possible), and run the cable apart from signal and instrumentation cables.
Size. Size the cable for the motor current and the run length, and check the drive maker's limit on motor cable length for the drive and its filters.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of the Polycab VFD Cable?
The Polycab VFD Cable is supplied at a price on request, because cable prices depend on the construction, the quantity and the raw-material prices on the day. Call +91 9340081159 for a quotation.
Why use a VFD cable instead of an ordinary armoured cable?
A drive produces high-frequency switching noise. A screened, symmetrical VFD cable keeps that noise contained and gives the drive's high-frequency currents a balanced return path, which drive makers recommend to limit interference and bearing currents.
What does 3+3(E) mean?
Three phase cores plus three earth cores, laid symmetrically between the phases.
How should the screen be earthed?
At both ends, with a 360° bond in EMC cable glands at the drive and at the motor - unlike instrumentation screens, which are usually earthed at one end.
Where can I buy the Polycab VFD Cable in Chhattisgarh?
From Jai Enterprises, Bhilai and Raipur, which supplies Polycab cables to every district of Chhattisgarh and across India. Call +91 9340081159 for the price, stock and lead time.
