How to choose and fit it

Layout. Space the fittings evenly over the canopy so the dispensers, vehicles and payment points are lit without dark patches; send us the canopy size and height and we will propose the number of fittings.

Linear or square. Both are fuel-station canopy lights: this linear one (2400 mm) gives continuous lines of light, the square petrol pump canopy light (382 x 382 mm) a compact module - choose by the canopy layout.

Size. Polycab's drawing shows it as 2400 mm long and 70 mm wide (±5 mm).

Hazardous zones. It is not a flameproof (Ex) fitting: mount it at canopy height outside the hazardous zones shown on the outlet's approved layout. Inside a zone, use a flameproof fitting whose certificate and PESO approval cover that zone and petrol vapour (gas group IIA, IIB or IIC, and temperature class T3 or better) - for example the Polycab LED Flameproof Flood Light, subject to its certificate. The certificate must also cover the canopy's ambient temperature: an Ex fitting is rated for -20 to +40 °C unless its marking states a different range, so check that the marked range reaches at least 50 °C.

Fitting. Suspend or fix it with the mounting accessories supplied (Polycab's drawing shows it hung on two wires, with the driver box above) and terminate the supply in a weatherproof junction box. It runs on 220 to 240 V AC. Isolate the supply before work; a qualified electrician should install and earth the fitting.
