How to choose and fit it

Wattage. As a rough guide, 30 to 45 W suits walkways, stairways, platforms and small sheds at heights of about 3 to 5 m, and 60 to 70 W larger areas at heights of about 5 to 7 m. Send us the area and mounting height for a layout.

Fitting. Hang the well glass from its i-bolt on a hook and fix the safety wire, or fix it by its U-bracket, as Polycab's drawing shows; connect it through a sealed cable entry. It runs on 220 to 240 V AC. Isolate the supply before work; a qualified electrician should install and earth the fitting.

Higher roofs. Above roughly 6 to 7 m a high bay is the better choice - see the Indeco Plus and Indeco LED high bays.

Hazardous areas. This is not a flameproof fitting. For areas with flammable gas, vapour or combustible dust, use a certified flameproof fitting such as the Polycab LED flameproof well glass light. Its certificate must cover your area - for gas, the zone, gas group and temperature class; for dust such as coal, a Zone 21 or 22 dust marking with the dust group and the maximum surface temperature - and the ambient temperature range there.
