Raytech LittleJoint L - IP68/IP69K Gel-Filled In-line Micro-Joints: Barney, Fred, Dino, Betty and Tom

Raytech LittleJoint L is a range of in-line micro-joints that come pre-filled with soft gel and complete with a screw connector. Integrated cable glands seal the joint to IP68 and IP69K and hold the cables, so they suit any installation - buried, submerged or hosed down. Raytech is an Italian manufacturer that specialises in gel-based insulation for electrical connections: pre-filled gel boxes and joints that are ready to use straight from the pack, and insulating gels and rubbers for filling joints, boxes and enclosures.

How to choose the size

Pick the size by the number and size of conductors first, then check that the cable outside diameter is within the gland range. Two-core lighting cable up to 2.5 mm² takes Barney and three-core 2.5 mm² cable Fred. For four cores up to 4 mm² use Dino; five cores take Betty/4 (4 mm²) or Betty/6 (6 mm²), and five-core 16 mm² cable Tom.

How it is installed

1. Strip the cable sheaths and conductors, slide the cable glands and seals onto the two cables.
2. Connect the conductors in the supplied screw connector and lay it in the gel-filled shell.
3. Close the shell and tighten the glands - the gel closes round the connector and the glands seal on the cable sheaths and hold the cables.
