Raytech Super Clik - IPX8 Gel-Filled Straight and Branch Joints for 0.6/1 kV Multi-Core Cable

Raytech Super Clik is a range of fast, gel pre-filled cable joints for 0.6/1 kV multi-core cables of up to 5 conductors, plus the Mini L joint for small 450 V cables. Each joint comes complete with its terminal block or connector and a gel-filled case: connect the conductors, lay the connection in the case and close it, and the joint is sealed to IPX8 - fully submersible and suitable for underground use. Raytech is an Italian manufacturer that specialises in gel-based insulation for electrical connections: pre-filled gel boxes and joints that are ready to use straight from the pack, and insulating gels and rubbers for filling joints, boxes and enclosures.

The cross-linked polymer gel and the robust insulating case make Super Clik a Class 2 joint to CEI 64-8. It has been tested with repeated flexing and torsion and with immersion in water, the connections stay re-accessible even after long service, and the self-extinguishing components make it flame retardant. How to choose the size

Start with the cable. For small 450 V cables, Super Clik Mini L makes a straight joint on 3 x 0.5-1.5 mm². For 0.6/1 kV cable, Super Clik 0 takes 3-core cable of 1.5-6 mm² (cable diameter up to 14 mm), Super Clik 1 2- to 5-core cable of 1.5-6 mm² (cable diameter up to 20.5 mm) and Super Clik 2 2- to 5-core cable of 4-16 mm² (cable diameter up to 30 mm). Super Clik 3 makes branch joints on 2- to 4-core cable up to 25 mm².

Super Clik 0, 1 and 2 make both straight and branch joints; Super Clik 3 is for branch joints only, and Mini L for straight joints only.

How it is installed

1. Prepare the cable ends: remove the sheath and strip the conductors to suit the terminal block.
2. Connect the conductors in the terminal block supplied - end to end for a straight joint, or the through and branch conductors for a tee.
3. Lay the block and conductors in the gel-filled case and close it: the gel closes around the conductors and the block and seals the joint.
