HEX mechanical cable lugs clamp the conductor with screws instead of a crimp, so a cable can be terminated without a crimping tool — useful for site repairs, awkward locations and emergency work. Type I lugs use two screws (10–35 sq mm) and Type II lugs four screws (50–700 sq mm). HEX tinned screw sleeves join two cables the same way, from 6 to 300 sq mm. Both are brass, electro-tinned, with electro-plated steel screws. Made by HEX, the brand of Brass Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd., Mumbai — an ISO 9001 company whose products are tested by CPRI (India), UL (USA), KEMA (Netherlands) and SIRIM (Malaysia).
