The Polycab Edgelit LED Downlight is a slim recessed edge-lit LED downlight in round (PCREDL) and square (PCSEDL) shapes, for offices, meeting rooms, hospitals, schools and banks - light enters the panel from its edges, so the face glows evenly without hotspots.

Why choose the Polycab Edgelit LED Downlight

• Edge-lit panel - consistent light without hotspots or glare
• Ultra-slim profile that fits low ceiling voids
• Round and square shapes for different interiors
• Uses significantly less energy than traditional downlights
• 100 lm/W or more, CRI 80 or more, THD 10% or less, open- and short-circuit protection

How to choose and fit it

Wattage and spacing. In a room about 2.7 to 3 m high, 12 W spaced about 1.2 m apart, or 15 W spaced about 1.2 to 1.5 m apart, suits offices, cabins and meeting rooms; 18 W spaced about 1.5 m apart, or 22 W spaced about 1.5 to 1.8 m apart, suits larger rooms and lobbies - roughly 300 to 500 lux at desk height. The room size sets how many downlights you need; send us the room size and we will confirm it with a layout.

Colour. 6500 K cool white looks the brightest and suits open-plan work areas and service areas where a crisp light is wanted. For offices, meeting rooms and banks, the 4000 K neutral white version (to order) is the balanced choice; 3000 K warm white is also available to order.

Fitting. Cut the ceiling to the listed opening (±5 mm), connect the driver to the supply, and push the downlight up into the opening until its springs hold it. It runs on 220 to 240 V AC. Isolate the supply before work; a qualified electrician should install it and connect the earth where the fitting has an earth terminal.
